Multi-Talented Chandeep Singh bags a Silver medal at Para World Taekwondo Championships

After the Paralympic success, India is continuing its glory in several other paralympic tournaments across the globe. Recently, Chandeep Singh clinched a Silver for India in the 9th World Para-Taekwondo Championships 2021, Istanbul, Turkey. He won the medal in the Men’s plus 80 kg event and the tournament concluded on 12 Dec. With the silver, Chandeep Singh became the only Para Athlete from J&K to achieve such a great place at the World platform.

First-ever medal in the history of Para-Taekwondo World Championship

With the silver at the Para-Taekwondo World Championship, Chandeep Singh became India’s first-ever athlete to win a medal in the history of Para-Taekwondo World Championship. Chandeep is an excellent Para-athlete in different sports. From Skating and Swimming to Taekwondo, Chandeep has a diverse set of talents. He also has an electrical engineering degree and the 22-year-old has a lot in his achievement bag.

Chandeep is also a national-level skater and holds a world record for the fastest 100-meters para-skating in an impressive 13.95 seconds.

An Extraordinary journey

Chandeep Singh’s journey has been an extraordinary one. In his initial phase of life, Chandeep was intrigued with athletes and football. But his life took a turn in 2011, when the then 7th-grader from Jammu, J&K, met with a high tension electric shock of 11,000 volts. And lost both his arms to the mishap. But this did not impoverish his spirit. The young sportsman continued his journey with a unique zest and zeal. His continuous determination inspires him to push his limits and inspire others through his extraordinary journey.
