The District Administration Bandipora formally launched the month long awareness activities under Mission Youth in the district.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan inaugurated the inaugural awareness-cum-career counselling session under Mission Youth and PMEGP at Mini-Secretariat here.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that a detailed calendar has been drafted to start various programmes under Mission Youth including career counseling, Psycho Social Counseling besides other educational activities and awareness regarding schemes for assistance to establish income-generating units. The activities shall continue till 21 March 2022.
He said the activities shall be carried out at Panchayat level in every Panchayat to ensure maximum participation of youth.
Khan said the programmes shall include awareness regarding initiatives under Mission Youth and PMEGP, career-counseling, On-spot registration under various Mission Youth schemes, Special Session for Girls regarding awareness about Women Specific Employment Generation Initiatives, Data updation of unemployed youth, feedback and suggestions from youth besides holding special meetings with PRIs and District Administration officers.
He said that several projects proposed by the district administration under Mission Youth shall help the youth to uplift their socio-economic conditions besides providing a platform to the youth for education and employment. He said the administration is also going to conduct civil services coaching and coaching for competitive exams under the mission.
ADDC said that the core agenda of Mission Youth is to positively engage youth for their overall well being within the society by making them stakeholders in the development of the Union Territory.
Joint Director Planning while speaking on the occasion said that the programme is conceived with an objective to facilitate the engagement of youth in sustainable socio-economic development of J&K.
He said Mission Youth and PMEGP are flagship programmes of Govt. to provide access and exposure to youth for employment and urged youth to come forward to harness the benefits of the scheme.
OSD Mission Youth J&K, Dr Murtaza briefed about various schemes of Mission Youth. He said Bharat Darshan programme will be held for youth to expose them to external environments and entrepreneurs.
ACD Bandipora, Ab Rashid Das; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Altaf Hussain Mosavi; Project Manager DIC Bandipora, Mehraj Wani; AD Employment , PRIs, Youth representatives, and members of youth clubs attended the programme.
