Meet Srinagar youth who organised marriage of over 200 orphan, poor girls in Kashmir.

 

A youth from Soura area of Srinagar has so far borne the expenses of marriages of over 200 orphan and poor girls even as he is planning for more in the near future.

Umar Wani, a resident of Soura for the last 5 years he along with the members of “We the helping hand foundation” have arranged money from their own pockets besides donations and have borne marriage expenses of over 200 orphan and poor girls.

“I was working in Europe in a company where I got inspired by some of my friends who were working for the welfare of society and I quit there and found an organization ‘We the helping hand foundation’ in the year 2013,” he said.For the last 5 years distributing 30 grocery packets every month among deserving families.

Now planning to distribute the monthly grocery items at least among 20 deserving families in every district.He said that they have been organising programmes at different stages to aware people especially youth about the ill effects of using drugs and its consequences on the society under the banner of “The power of J&K Youth Association”. “We have been taking up the issues of public importance to higher ups besides make people aware,” he said.
