Youngest Awarded Social Activist Aquib Ahmad, devotes his Teenagehood for the betterment of society and mankind.Aquib Ahmad is an Youngest Indian Social Activist, Vice President Drug Free Kashmir and Kashmir Youth Web. Aquib Ahmad is the youngest Social Activist from Kashmir and well known for his achievements in the society.
Aquib Ahmad hails from Ompora Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Aquib Ahmad has actively worked for the eradication of drugs from society and imparting education regarding it. He has also worked for relief distribution in times of Covid lockdown. He has dedicated his life to social welfare at a young age and has fought against the smugglers who actively are working to deviate the youth from their paths into the addiction of drugs. Youngest-social activist had launched a massive drive against drug addiction along with his whole team under the banner of “Drug Free Kashmir”. Aquib Ahmad said that there should be a check on the drug mafia in the state and trans-border narco-terrorism.
Aquib Ahmad has distributed thousands of books and booklets regarding drug abuse, he believes that substance abuse creeps into the head of a person first and later the into the body, which makes it important to eradicate drugs from the mind of a person first, hence the books for awareness.
The youth received a lot of help from this non-political organization Kashmir Youth Web,Youth For Drug Free Kashmir, Kashmir Youth Web which is founded by irfan Attari this is a nonprofit public benefit organization that empowers youth and adults equally. All the necessary facts are provided and worked upon to encourage the talents of the valley. They work on the social issues and carry out informative events and programs in the Kashmir Valley.
Aquib along with the other members is working on fields but keeping the anti-drug campaign as his priority. “The motive of our organization is to eradicate the social evils from our valley and the biggest of the all is the drug addiction. We believe it is the chain cuffing the youth from pursuing their real dreams”, Aquib said.
Youth For Drug Free Kashmir is internationally linked with Foundation For Drug Free World & Drug Free World India and for their aims they have started the distribution of about 1 lakh books regarding the research of drugs (2021) out of which 10,000 books have already distributed in the districts of Srinagar and Budgam. “We’re ready for the door to door campaigning of our books and by this our aim will be to make the Kashmir valley peaceful and fruitful.
Aquib Ahmad was the board member of KYW and Drug Free Kashmir, an NGO founded by a group of other youngsters who have worked against drug addiction and in the far flung areas in the UT, Jammu and Kashmir.
During the Covid 19, whole world was put under a total lockdown, due to which a lot of people found themselves without work and found it extremely difficult to feed their families. During which several NGO’s and Samaritans did what they could to help whoever they could. Aquib Ahmad and his team were one among these, they made it a point and instructed everyone to look out for people in their own neighbourhoods and help if anyone needed it.
Their organization aimed to support doctors, nurses, frontline health workers, police personnel, sanitation and other workers with personal protective equipment (PPE) to enable them to continue delivering services to COVID patients.
Aquib Ahmad has set an example for many other teenagers to come forward and do something for the betterment of people and the needy souls of society. Aquib Ahmad aims to continue the service of humanity in order to eradicate the evils and make Kashmir, followed by the country, problem free.
