Manzoor Wangnoo receives Community Impact Award at Global Leaders Conference in Dubai

Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, Chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), was honoured with the Global Leaders Award 2024 – Community Impact Award by Her Excellency Laila Rahhal El Aftani, President & Founder of Business Gate, UAE, at the Global Leaders Conference in Al Bustan, Dubai.

A statement said that this prestigious award recognises his exceptional leadership and impactful contributions to environmental conservation and community welfare.

The conference commenced with a wonderful and heartwarming speech by Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Founder of Emirates Environmental Group, during the morning session. Her inspiring words set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in protecting the environment, the statement said

Upon receiving the award, Wangnoo expressed his deep gratitude, dedicating the honour to his parents, who instilled in him the values of environmental stewardship.

He also acknowledged his dedicated team at NLCO, whose unwavering support has been crucial in carrying forward the organisation’s mission to restore Kashmir’s water bodies and natural resources.

“I am humbled to receive this recognition, which is a testament to our collective efforts in safeguarding our environment for future generations,” Wangnoo remarked.

He extended his sincere thanks to the organisers, especially Dr Haleema Sadia, Managing Director of Edufam International Academy, for providing a platform that celebrates global changemakers.

The award presentation was a significant moment at the conference, which gathered global leaders, activists, and community influencers, highlighting the critical role of individuals like Wangnoo in fostering environmental consciousness and driving community-led conservation efforts.

Wangnoo called upon the community to continue playing an active role in preserving and restoring natural resources, stating, “This award belongs to everyone who believes in the power of community and conservation. Let’s keep working together to protect and nurture our environment.”
