The Kashmir Valley is buzzing with excitement as international cricket legends arrived in Srinagar ahead of the highly anticipated Legends League Cricket (LLC) tournament. The matches, set to be held at the newly renovated Bakshi Stadium, will begin on October 9 and culminate with the grand final on October 16.
This tournament will feature seven high-octane matches, with star players from India and around the globe gracing the field, bringing world-class cricket back to Kashmir.
Fans will witness cricket stars from India and around the world, with the lineup featuring 124 renowned players such as Mohammad Kaif, ShikharDhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, Ross Taylor, Ian Bell, UpulTharanga, TillakaratneDilshan, IrfanPathan, and Yusuf Pathan.
Excitement in the valley is palpable, as cricket enthusiasts gathered to welcome the players. In a video message, former West Indies captain Chris Gayle, famously known as the ‘Universe Boss,’ expressed his excitement for the event. “Hello Srinagar, Universe Boss in town! Book your tickets to see the action,” Gayle urged fans, calling on them to fill the stands at Bakshi Stadium.
Ravi Shastri, former Indian cricket coach and legendary player, also shared his optimism about the future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir. “There is immense potential here. The youngsters are full of talent, and with the right exposure, they can go far. The presence of legends in events like this is an inspiration for them,” Shastri told reporters.
The LLC, known for its competitive matches and widespread popularity, garnered an impressive viewership of 180 million fans across India in its previous season.
