LATEST INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS APPLYING ONLINE FOR SCHOLARSHIP UNDER MINISTRY OF MINORITY AFFAIRS, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

As per the instructions of Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, following information is circulated for the students applying for scholarship in the year 2018-19

  1. The students applying for the scholarship under Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Means category have to apply online on the portal www.scholarship.gov.in
  2. The students must read Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) available on the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal www.scholarship.gov.in for filling up of the online applications.
  • The documents are required to upload (for both Fresh & Renewal Scholarships) only if the eligible claim of scholarship is more than Rs 50,000/- per student i.e Only under Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship (For Scholarship claim up to Rs. 50,000/- no uploading is required for Pre-matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes).
  1. All renewal applicants/ Students who have got scholarship in year 2017-18 may apply by giving their existing application ID.
  2. Students are advised to fill their complete Bank Accounts details(full account no and IFSC Code) carefully.
  3. Students are suggested to get their bank account number verified by their concerned Bank Branch. If Bank details entered by the students are found incorrect, the application will get rejected at Bank Validation
  • Bank Account holder must check theirKnow Your Customer(KYC) status from Bank and if required the KYC must be done for successful transaction of scholarship amount.
  • Students are advised to link Aadhar with their bank account preferably for faster disbursement
  1. Bank account must be operational/ active till disbursement of scholarship (for all eligible applicants) so that payment does not fail.
  2. Confirm from your bank that your account is not Dormant/Closed/Inactive and also be sure that your account is free from transaction limit. Also please note that in case Transaction failure/ Return of Scholarship amount, there is no provision of re-payment and Ministry of Minority Affairs is not responsible for such lapses.

The list of documents to be uploaded for both Fresh & Renewal Scholarships under Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship only (not for Pre-Matric & Post-Matric), are as under:-

  1. Student Photo. (Mandatory).
  2. Aadhar Number.
  3. Institution Verification Form. A copy of form is annexed. (Mandatory)
  4. Income Certificate: Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the State/UT Government is required (Mandatory).
  5. Religion Certificate: Self Declaration/Certification or Self Attested Community Certificate – (Mandatory).
  6. Marksheet:
  • In case of Fresh: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Qualifying Exam /Board Marksheet’ as filled in the(Mandatory).
  • In case of Renewal: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year /Last exam passed Marksheet (for same/ ongoing course) as filled in the Form. (Mandatory).
  1. Fee Receipt of’Current Course Year’. (Mandatory)
  2. Proof of Bank Account in the name of Student. (Mandatory).
  3. Residential/Domicile Certificate (Mandatory).

Note: In case of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes the students will attach the above requisite documents with the hard copy of the Online Scholarship Application form and submit it to the concerned Head of the Institution for record and further online verification by the concerned Institute.
