KVK Srinagar organises skill entrepreneurship awareness program for higher education students

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Srinagar organised two (02)days Entrepreneurship Awareness Program on Skill Development in Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) in Perishable Food Products” under the banner of MSME-EAP, to connect and ignite the students of higher education with Entrepreneurship Development as a self-sustainable livelihood security.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Aasima Rafiq, the coordinator of the Programme in two phases at two Govt. Educational Institutions viz. GHSS Chanapora and College of Education Srinagar, attended by faculty members, students of the respective Institutions and KVK Scientists.

The inaugural sessions were graced by the Prof. Seema Naaz (Principal, College of Education Srinagar) and Dr. Samina Wani(Principal, GHSS Chanapora).

During the two-day delibrations, expert lectures were delivered by resource persons Yamin Nabi (Asstt. Commissioner, Food Safety & Drug Administration), Aftab Shalla (JK Bank, Corporate HQ) and Dr. Tawheed Amin (SKUAST-K).

Yamin dealt the audience with the concept of fortification, good manufacturing practices and laid emphasis on cloud kitchen for women entrepreneurs while Shalla attracted the audience with the catchy hassle-free financial schemes of JK bank and flagship HADP Programme of Govt. of J&K for the youth to establish small scale Agri-enterprise for their economic upliftment and livelihood security.

Dr. Tawheed highlighted the importance of healthy and nutritious foods under the title of Eat Right- Feel Right.

During the course of interaction, Principal Prof. Naaz expressed her desire to further engage with the Kendra in such Skill Oriented Entrepreneurial Programmes for the students.

The participating students appreciated the initiative of the Kendra in providing insight of the various schemes Entrepreneurship Skill development which has inspired them to think on setting of their enterprise.
