District Kulgam secured the third position in the 24th UT Level Kho Kho Championship, held at the Green Field Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The championship was organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Kho Kho Association.
During the group stages, Kulgam defeated Poonch and Baramulla, earning a spot in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, Kulgam faced a setback in the semi-final stage, where they were outplayed by District Budgam.
However, Kulgam bounced back strongly in the third-place match, facing District Udhampur. In a thrilling encounter, Kulgam emerged victorious, securing the third-place title and proving their resilience & determination.
The Jammu & Kashmir Kho Kho Association lauded the efforts of Kulgam’s coach, Tajamul Mohi Ud Din, and the team’s manager for their exceptional preparation and leadership, which played a crucial role in the team’s success at the prestigious tournament.
District Kulgam’s achievement highlights the growing talent and dedication to the sport in the region, & the team’s performance is a proud moment for the district. The founder of Jammu and Kashmir Kho Kho Association Bhupinder Singh Tirthi highlighted the importance of Khelo India Centres in bringing a lot of talent in the championship.
