In a heartwarming moment at the 20th convocation of the University of Kashmir, students were beaming with pride as they received gold medals from none other than the President of India Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday.
The event was a culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and it was a dream come true for the talented graduates.
Amidst a backdrop of academic excellence, President Murmu graced the ceremony, commending the students for their outstanding achievements.
President highlighted the importance of education in shaping the future of the nation and encouraged the graduates to continue their pursuit of knowledge.
Adil Hamid, LLB Gold Medalist 2022 batch from Gudoora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama with tears of joy in her eyes, said that receiving this gold medal from the President of India seems that dream has come true.
“It was excited to receive the medal of honour for my efforts of hardwork from President of India. This excitement and honour is short of words , which cannot be expressed through any medium,” he said.
Adil said such reward is award of responsibility and real test is as a role of the lawyer which i have to prove that as well.
Iqra Mushtaq, who is Gold Medalist from Dept Physical and Mathematical Science, says it is proud moment for her and entire family.
“Thanks to almighty Allah, I’ m feeling so glad as today not just mine my parents dream come true. Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice,” she said.
Iqra said that hard work and consistency are the keys to success. There is no shortcut for hard work, she added.
Another Gold Medalist in LLM Mahnaz Ajaz, from School of Law (Batch 2021), says that her dream has come true, and this moment is surreal. It’s an honor beyond words to be recognized by the highest office in the country,” she said.
“It is especially honor for me as a woman to receive a gold medal from a female President of India; it is a lifetime achievement,” Mahnaz said.
She said this gold medal is not just an award; it’s a testament to the countless nights of hard work and the unwavering support of our professors.
Naqshab Nisar Kirmani, Gold Medalist Islamic Studies & Faculty Topper from School of Social Sciences told Rising Kashmir that expressed here gratitude to her teachers from the varsity and family for playing a crucial role in her success.
“They stood beside me and made my journey a memorable one. There might have been only 30 steps to that Dais where I was honoured but these 30 steps were just a summary of a long journey full of struggles and consistent efforts,” Naqshab said.
She thanked Almighty Allah for blessing her with this grace and honor, without His wish it would have been just a dream.
“I owe my success to them all and extend my sincere gratitude to everyone,”Naqshab said.
