Khelo India Women’s Weightlifting League Ends in Kashmir

The Asmita Khelo India Weightlifting Women’s League 2025 concluded at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Complex, Srinagar, with 37 talented athletes showcasing exceptional strength and spirit. Organized by the J&K Weightlifting Association, the event marked a significant step in promoting women’s sports in the region.

The league was inaugurated by Harbhajan Singh, President of the J&K Weightlifting Association. The closing ceremony was graced by Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council, alongside other dignitaries who praised the efforts of athletes and officials.

The success of the event was made possible through the dedication of technical officials including Yudhvir Singh, Anees Ahmed Choudhary, Mustaq Zarger and several coaches.

Winners were declared across multiple categories, with Priyanka Devi, Akshara Kumari, Sabha Banoo, and Najmeena Majeed among the gold medallists. A moment of silence was observed in memory of GR Beig, founder member of the J&K Weightlifting Association.
