Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma today inaugurated a 50 room girls’ hostel at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Shuhama of Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology Kashmir (SKUAST-K).The hostel named as Nargis Girls Hostel has been built at a cost of Rs 5.3 crore. It has the facilities for boarding of 100 students and scholars.
The hostel also has a games room, TV room, common room, gym and other facilities.The Advisor lauded the university authorities for completing the construction of the hostel in an expedited manner. He said that government is committed to help the university to further augment its infrastructure for the benefit of students, scholars and ultimately the farmers.Advisor Sharma said that the government has completed about 100 developmental projects in the last few months and this hostel is the continuation of that trend.
He said steps are being taken to help the university to become a world-class university. He said that SKUAST-K should benefit from the infrastructure and its immense Human Resource pool and become an inspiration for other universities in the country.
