Kashmir’s Sana Fayaz Shines Bright, Secures AIR 12 in Indian Forest Service Exam

In a momentous achievement, Sana Fayaz, a Kashmiri woman hailing from Peer Bagh, has clinched the 12th All India Rank (AIR) in the Indian Forest Service examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Among the 147 successful candidates, Sana’s remarkable feat is a testament to her dedication and perseverance.

Her unwavering commitment to excellence marks Sana’s journey towards this accomplishment. Having pursued her schooling at Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, she continued her academic pursuit by obtaining a Bachelor of Technology degree from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar. Her passion for environmental conservation led her to pursue a postgraduate degree in Climate Change Studies, further solidifying her expertise in the field.

Driven to contribute meaningfully to society, Sana embarked on her Civil Services journey shortly after completing her engineering in 2017. Undeterred by initial challenges, she attempted both the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) and UPSC examinations in the same year. Although success eluded her at that time, she persisted with resilience and determination.

In 2021, Sana made a triumphant return, appearing for the JKAS for the second time and the UPSC for the fourth time. Her perseverance bore fruit as she emerged victorious in both endeavours, marking a significant milestone in her career trajectory.

Her remarkable journey underscores the importance of the relentless pursuit of goals and the transformative power of perseverance. Sana’s achievement not only highlights her brilliance but also exemplifies the potential for excellence that lies within every individual, irrespective of background or circumstance.
