Racing cars screeched along the banks of Dal Lake on Sunday as Kashmir Valley witnessed the inaugural edition of Formula-4 car racing.
Amidst an air thick with excitement, sleek racing cars zoomed through the Boulevard road along the Dal Lake banks, set against the picturesque backdrop of Zabarwan Hills.
Highlighting the significance of the event as a symbol of progress, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, remarked that hosting such racing car shows in the Valley reflects its modernity and capacity to host world-renowned sports events.
He expressed confidence that these events would not only enhance the region’s image but also provide a significant boost to tourism and the local economy.
Director Tourism Kashmir, Raja Yaqoob, emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as an adventure tourism destination, with plans to facilitate more such sports activities in the future.
“With the introduction of high-octane events like this, we are not only entertaining but also investing in the future of Kashmir’s youth and tourism industry,” Yaqoob added.
He further highlighted that the race would serve as a platform for local talent, nurturing a new generation of sports enthusiasts with aspirations to compete on a global scale.
