JKFA to start football leagues in Srinagar from July 18

The Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) held official meet at its office premises and decided to start sports activities (football leagues) form July 18 at different venues across Srinagar.

As per a JKFA official, it was decided that the activities of the Association will start from July 18 at Synthetic Turf TRC, followed by the matches to be played in Polo Ground and Gindun Play field in Srinagar.

The official added that while keeping in view the guidelines and the criteria of All India Football Federation(AIFF), the modalities regarding the conduct of the “Professional League Football Tournament” was also discussed in detail in the meeting.

“It was also decided the Association will seek nominations for the professional league for the clubs who intend to participate in forthcoming AIFF 2nd Division I-League,” official said, adding, the “Technical Committee” of the Association will come up with the detailed programme to this effect soon.

“Members present in the meet on the occasion in one voice stressed upon for the promotion of the game in every nook and corner of J&K,” he said, adding, the “Members of Association” took a pledge that they will work for the smooth functioning of the association thus encouraging the budding Youth of J&K.

“For this all the District Football Association’s (Zones) of J&K (UT) have started conducting their league activities for the players to give them best possible competition without further delay,” he said.
