JK Wushu Association shortlists team for upcoming Junior National Wushu championship

The Selection Committee of Wushu Association of J&K (WAJK) Saturday shortlisted the Junior Wushu team for the upcoming 21st Junior National Wushu championship scheduled to be held in Kerala from September 01-06 this year.
The selection trial started on July 29 and concluded on 30th of this month at Wushu Hall Gindun Stadium Srinagar.
National chief coach, Kuldeep Handoo, who headed the selection committee of Wushu Association of J&K, said that the committee shortlisted players for the national Wushu team for participation in the upcoming Junior National Wushu championship which is to be held at Cuttack Kerala.

Besides, Handoo, Maqsood Rather, Joint Secretary WAJK and members, Jabeena Akhter District Secretary Baramulla WAJK, Nisar Ahmed District Secretary (Budgam) and Kamal Kishore District Secretary WAJK (Jammu) finalized the Junior Wushu team.

Kuldeep Handoo told Rising Kashmir that around 170 players from 12 districts across J&K participated in these two days trials and a total of 34 players have been shortlisted.

He informed all the medalists of the Junior National Wushu championship will be selected for the National Wushu coaching camp for the preparation of the Indian Wushu team for the 8th Junior World Wushu championship will be held in Indonesia in December 2022.

As per the official document the selected players include Hadiya Sidiq from Srinagar, Mehroosh Mubeen Srinagar, Maryam Akhtar from Baramulla, and Mehreen Jan ( KIC Handwara). These players have been selected for the junior national championship Youth Girls category.

The players who have been selected for the junior girls’ category include Pakeeza Qurashi from KIC Handwara, Sadia Tariq from Srinagar, Afiffa Zainab from Srinagar, Samiya Shabir from Srinagar, Kaifa Shah from Srinagar, Shah Talha from Srinagar, and Sana from Srinagar.
Altaf Hussain Joo from Baramulla, Zuhaib Hussain from Anantnag, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat from Budgam, Priyanshu Chib from Jammu, Sulaiman from Srinagar, Zain Bin Ashiq Dhar from Srinagar, Tushal Dogra from Jammu, Mohd Tofiq Malik from Jammu have been selected for junior national youth boys category respectively.

Sheikh Amir from Srinagar, Fida Hussain Budgam, Raghav Soni Samba, Musharaf Qayoom Baramulla, Muntazir Hussain Mir Budgam, Waseem Fayaz Budgam, Rizwan Rashid Baramulla, Mohd Shaheer Srinagar, Mohammad Yaqoob Dar Budgam, Syed Mohammad Ali Srinagar, Ajmal Yousuf Budgam, Ehhan Ashraf Baktoo Srinagar, Vasu Dev Sharma Jammu, Imran Raja Baramulla, Irfan Ahmad Khan Budgam have been selected for participation in junior boys category respectively.
