J&K Volleyball team leaves for Odisha

The Jammu and Kashmir Senior Mens volleyball team on Thursday was flagged off for competing  in the 70th Senior National Volleyball Championship for Men and Women scheduled to be held at Bhubaneshwar Odisha.

The championship is starting from February 07 2022 and shall conclude on 13th February this year.

The team is accompanied by Team Manager Mohinder Kumar from Kathua, Head coach Mohd Tariq from Poonch and Assistant Coach Wasif  Ahmad Allayie from Budgam.

The players include team captain Shahid Majid from Baramulla, Sahil Sharma from Jammu,  Rahul Verma from Kathua, Shakir Ashraf  from Kulgam, Shabir Ahmed Tantary from Baramulla, Sachin Sharma from Rajouri, Vipan Kumar from Jammu, Pankaj Sharma  from Jammu, Varun Singh from Kathua, Mohd Aris Khan from Poonch,  Zahid Hussain  from Poonch and Parvinder Singh from Doda.

Prior to proceeding,  the team underwent 9-days-long  intensive Coaching Camp at Play Field Shastri Nagar, Jammu under the supervision of Ashok Singh Divisional Sports Officer Jammu and  Dalvir Mehta Incharge Play Field Shastri Nagar, J&K Sports Council.

On the occasion President and Office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K Sidharth Daluja also distributed  sports kits and track suits to the players and officials and extended their best wishes to the  team for bringing laurels to J&K in the national event.

Earlier on wednesday, Divisional Sports officer Jammu , JKSC, Ashok Singh and Manager M.A. Stadium Sports Complex Jammu Satish Gupta, screened J&K Volleyball Men’s team.
