J&K LG Sinha Advocates Multi-Pronged Strategy to Combat Terror Threats

 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting in Srinagar to review the overall security situation in the Kashmir Division.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani, Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti, ADGP (CID) Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to the LG Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, along with DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, and SSPs from across the division.

The Lieutenant Governor took a comprehensive review of the prevailing security scenario and directed officers to maintain constant ground-level assessment, vigilance, and preparedness to eliminate terrorism from the Valley.

“We must adopt a 360-degree approach to completely dismantle terrorism and its support system,” the Lieutenant Governor said, emphasizing coordinated efforts among all agencies.

Sinha directed the civil administration and police to work in close coordination to ensure effective law and order management, security, and the success of anti-terror operations.

He also underlined the need for a comprehensive strategy to counter fake news and false narratives, and instructed the police and district administrations to engage youth in self-employment initiatives and ensure prompt grievance redressal.

The meeting additionally reviewed the winter preparedness of district administrations. The Lieutenant Governor instructed officials to remain alert and ready to counter any potential threat or challenge during the winter season.

Commending the J&K Police for their professionalism and dedication, Sinha lauded their role in safeguarding the nation’s integrity and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
