In a bid to ease congestion at its renowned tourist hotspots, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Union Territory government has launched an initiative to promote lesser-known destinations. Officials have revealed plans to present ambitious proposals to the Union Ministry and the World Bank for funding and support. The initiative comes amidst record visitor numbers at popular destinations such as Dal Lake, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg. The J&K Tourism Department has identified approximately 35 locations across the Union Territory for immediate promotion.
