J&K Bank inks MoU with JPDCL to facilitate ease of electricity bill collection

Close on the heels of tying up with KPDCL, J&K Bank today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) to improve and streamline the electricity bill payment for consumers in Jammu region.
As per the agreement all banking activities of JPDCL related to electricity bill collection will be conducted exclusively through J&K Bank. This collaboration will focus on promoting digital payment solutions and provide multiple channels for their customers to pay their electricity bills at their own convenience.
Managing Director Vikas Kundal signed the agreement on behalf of JPDCL, while General Manager & Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar put in his signatures for J&K Bank in presence of Chief Engineer (JPDCL) Manhar Gupta and senior officials from JPDCL and the Bank.
Commenting on the MoU, General Manager Sunit Kumar said, “This MoU is a testament to our commitment to leveraging technology to provide convenient and efficient banking solutions. We believe this partnership will significantly contribute to the digital transformation of the region.”
“Together, we look forward to a successful partnership that will benefit the people of Jammu by making electricity bill payments easy and accessible for people irrespective of their location and contribute to the region’s progress.”, he added.
While commending the Bank’s role in the economic development of J&K, MD (JPDCL) Vikas Kundal said, “Collaborating with J&K Bank enables us to improve our service delivery and ensure that JPDCL consumers have convenient multiple options for paying their electricity bills. The agreement will surely improve the efficiency of our operations significantly in providing a better customer experience to the consumers particularly for those residing in remote and hilly areas across Jammu.”
Moreover, in addition to these services, J&K Bank has been appointed as the “Direct Debit Account Agent” of JPDCL for making payments to vendors during the implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
