In a significant technological stride, the Jammu and Kashmir administration proudly announced the development of an in-house Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Facial Attendance Management System. The Lieutenant Governor of J&K unveiled this cutting-edge system during the recent Yug Parivartan event at the SKICC in Srinagar, marking a pivotal moment in the digital transformation of the region.
According to a statement released by the J&K e-Governance Agency under the aegis of the IT Department at the Civil Secretariat, the state government has successfully designed this innovative solution under the guidance of the Commissioner Secretary to the Government and with the backing of the Chief Secretary of J&K.
This AI-Based Facial Attendance Management System employs state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to offer precise user identification and attendance tracking capabilities. Notably, it is easily accessible through mobile phones and incorporates features such as geo-fencing, daily attendance monitoring, real-time updates, an efficient workflow, and offline functionality.
One of the notable advantages of this application is its flexibility, allowing employees on field assignments to mark their attendance from any location, eliminating the need for physical visits to their designated office. This process is subject to online approval from their respective Heads of Departments (HOD).
“JaKeGA is now entrusted with the task of implementing this attendance management system throughout J&K to enhance productivity in government offices by simplifying attendance recording, reducing errors, and providing more accurate and timely attendance data,” the official explained.
The application’s implementation will be facilitated with the coordination of departmental nodal officers responsible for IT-related tasks, who are encouraged to collaborate with JaKeGA for guidance on deploying the AI-Based Facial Attendance Management System.
