Vows to dismantle terror ecosystem
Kupwara, Oct 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday visited Dardiporavillage, known as the “village of widows”,to meet families who lost their loved ones to terrorism.
Speaking at a gathering of 113 victim families at Degree College Kupwara, Sinha announced a series of rehabilitation measures and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice.
“No innocent will be touched, and no guilty will be spared. This is the best form of justice,” the Lieutenant Governor declared, emphasising a new era of accountability and compassion in the region.
During his address, Sinha said the administration is committed to ensuring that every genuine victim’s family receives a government job. “Those who were left out will be given their appointment letters after the elections,” he announced.
He further assured thatpending cases will be reopened and investigated, properties seized by terrorists will be returned to rightful owners, victims seeking self-employment will be supported through financial aid and homeless families will be provided housing through partner social organisations.
“These are final decisions,” he stated, calling the suffering of Kupwara’s families “deeply painful and long ignored.”
Highlighting past injustices, Sinha said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a paradox where Pakistani terrorists killed innocents, while some local leaders glorified those very terrorists.
“Many so-called big personalities cried at terrorists’ graves but never stood with the families of innocent victims,” he said. “They encouraged their children to study abroad while the children of poor families died for the country.”
Sinha accused certain sections of society of shielding the terror ecosystem and warned that they will be held accountable. “Their faces have been exposed. They will not be spared,” he asserted. “We are committed to dismantling this entire ecosystem that fed on the pain of our people.”
Sinha criticised the misuse of public funds in the past, stating that resources meant for welfare were diverted into the pockets of a few. “Because of this, the common people and families of terror victims suffered for decades,” he said.
He highlighted thatover 250 government jobs have already been provided to affected families and vowed to expand support further.
“After years of injustice, a new ray of hope is entering the lives of the people,” Sinha said. “The time of fear has ended. The time of justice has begun.”
He concluded by assuring the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the government remains committed to their peace, prosperity, and dignity.
