International Conference on AgriTech Intelligence concludes at Veterinary campus of SKUAST-K

3-day International Conference (AI-CIAS) on “AgriTech Intelligence and Beyond: Cutting Edge Innovations in Agriculture and Allied Sciences” on Thursday concluded at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Shuhama campus of SKUAST-Kashmir.
More than 500 participants from Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary and Aquaculture sciences took part in the event held in hybrid mode. The event was organized by the Division of Veterinary Biochemistry, FVSc & AH, SKUAST-K in collaboration with Agriculture Forum for Technical Education of Farming Society (AFTEFS). The conference sensitized all stakeholders on leveraging and better use of modern technologies especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Agriculture and allied sectors.
Prof. Haroon Rashid Naik, Director Research and Planning SKUAST-Kashmir was Chief Guest at the valedictory function and was accompanied on the dais by Prof. Shayaib Ahmad Kamil, Dean FVSc & AH, Dr. Krishnendra Singh, Vice President, AFTEFS and the Organising Secretary Dr. S Mudasir Rashid.
In his valedictory address Prof. Haroon emphasised on greater uptake of innovations in teaching, research and extension across different disciplines. He opined that the scientific community needs to come out of traditional thinking as it is the high time to be focused on development of new disruptive technologies and start-ups.  Prof. Haroon laid stress on addressing the prime issues of climate change and genetic conservation in scientific discourse and action involving of modern technologies. Prof. Naik also laid stress on generation of real time data for better planning and development of society especially the marginalized communities.
Prof. S. A. Kamil, Dean FVSc & AH, in his address highlighted the various contours of conference and its impact in advancing the conversation, inspiring action, and contributing to the global movement toward sustainable, technology-driven solutions in agriculture and allied sectors. Dr. Krishnendra Singh, thanked the University for giving the opportunity for hosting the event at SKUAST-K and providing all the necessary support in organizing the same. Earlier, the Prof. M. Altaf Bhat presented a brief report of conference with key takeaways and recommendations for future uptake.
The dignitaries also presented various awards for different sessions held in the conference among participants for their best work and presentation on different themes of the event.  Earlier Prof. Zahoor Ahamd Pampori, convenor of the event welcomed the participants of conference while Dr. S. Mudasir, the Organizing Secretary of the event presented the Vote of thanks.
