The Inter-District Union Territory level Yoga competition for girls across all age groups commenced on Wednesday at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Baramulla.
The event officially kicked off with the Under-14 girls’ competition at the Indoor Hall of the school.
A total of 13 districts from Jammu and Kashmir are participating in this prestigious competition, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K, with DYSSO Baramulla as the host.
The participants showcased remarkable performances, demonstrating exceptional skills and sportsmanship. In today’s competition, Jammu emerged victorious, securing the first place, while Udhampur claimed the runner-up position. Both teams were awarded trophies in recognition of their achievements.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, congratulated the participants for their outstanding performances and emphasized the importance of such competitions in promoting physical fitness and mental well-being among the youth. He also extended his best wishes for the upcoming competitions in the following days.
The event continues with competitions for other age groups in the days to come, aiming to encourage participation in yoga and foster a spirit of healthy competition among the youth.
