Infosys Co-founder Gopalakrishnan visits SKUAST

Kris Gopalakrishnan, the co-founder of one of the biggest technological giants in India, Infosys, visited SKUAST Kashmir in connection with the 2 Day Inter-university Academic Brainstorming.

He has been instrumental in shaping the company’s trajectory which today is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting with a net income of US$3.1 billion and a revenue of US$19 billion. Mr Goparalakrisnan was also elected president of Indian Industry (CII) and has co-chaired the World Economic Forum in Davos. He is the recipient of Padma Bhushan—the country’s third-highest civilian honour.
As the guest of honour at the inaugural function, he praised the SKUAST Kashmir’s technological and innovation progress.

He commented that the university’s thought process was ahead of contemporary India and is setting the right example for the nation in progress. Mr Gopalakrishnan also delivered a plenary talk on “IT Development and Exports – The Next Opportunities” during which he spoke about the various opportunities available in the IT sector in India for revenue expansion and creation. He emphasised the need for education, training and skill development. He discussed the immense potential of the Indian Startup Ecosystem, which is the third largest in the world.
The event also saw the participation of leading scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, and scholars from diverse backgrounds.
