Indian Army Organizes Dawat-e-Iftar to Strengthen Community Bonds in Tangmarg

In a continuous effort to strengthen the bond between the security forces and the local population, the 29 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Indian Army organized a grand Dawat-e-Iftar at the Sagribatpora Camp. The event was aimed at celebrating the holy month of Ramadan and fostering a spirit of peace, brotherhood, and mutual respect within the community.

The Iftar brought together a diverse gathering, including local village elders, youth, and religious leaders from the surrounding areas. The event provided a platform for open interaction and served as a reminder of the shared cultural fabric of the region.

The proceedings were overseen by Major Sorab and QRT Commander Prabhu, who personally welcomed the guests and engaged in meaningful dialogue with the local residents. Major Sorab, in his interaction, emphasized the Army’s commitment to the well-being and security of the people, while QRT Commander Prabhu and his team ensured the seamless and hospitable conduct of the evening.

As the sun set and the call to prayer was heard, the Army personnel and the local community broke their fast together, sharing a traditional meal in an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. This gesture of “Humsaya” (neighborly) spirit was highly appreciated by the attendees, who noted that such initiatives go a long way in bridging gaps and building lasting trust.

The local community members expressed their gratitude to the 29 RR for their hospitality and for creating an environment where soldiers and civilians could sit together as one. The evening concluded with collective prayers for the peace, prosperity, and development of the Valley.
