A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Srinagar for the establishment of a state-of-the-art ‘Center of Entrepreneurship for Internet of Things (IoT) & Robotics,’ at IIT Jammu.
The MoU was signed at IIT Jammu, with the officiating Registrar of IIT Jammu, Col Virendra Singh Jeji, signing on behalf of the institute, while Asim Khan, Director of STPI Srinagar, represented STPI. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof Manoj S Gour, Director of IIT Jammu, who highlighted the collaborative efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging technologies.
The newly established COE will provide a platform for startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the domains of IoT and Robotics, enabling them to build, develop, and commercialize cutting-edge solutions. The center aims to support the growth of technology-driven businesses and contribute to the development of India’s technology ecosystem.
The program was attended by key figures such as Dr M T Arvind, Chief Innovation Officer, IIT Jammu, and Dr Nalin Kumar Sharma, Dr Shiva Sekar, Dr Sudhakar Modem, Dr Padmini Singh, Dr Ankit Dubey, Assistant Professors of IIT Jammu. Faculty members of IIT Jammu and Fahad Mushtaq, Project Coordinator, STPI Srinagar were also present at the event, which emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaboration in driving innovation and entrepreneurship.
This partnership is set to pave the way for ground breaking advancements in IoT and Robotics, providing students and entrepreneurs with the resources and support needed to thrive in the fast-evolving technology landscape.
