‘IET On-Campus’ held introductory session with students at NIT Srinagar

The student community of ‘IET On Campus’ organized an introductory session on Monday with 2019, 2020, and 2021 student batches of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar and briefed them about its role in the engineering community.

Director NIT Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal in his message said such events inspire the students to accelerate in their careers, fields and are important for their all-around development.

He said the main responsibility of ‘IED On Campus’ is to connect our students to an international network of engineers and technicians, who can further help them in learning new skills regarding job seeking and other professional matters.

Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said ‘IET On Campus’ provides a vibrant platform to young students and later supports them in building their careers across the globe.

“NIT Srinagar will continue to support such activities on the campus for the benefit of its student community,” he said adding that more such events will be held in the future.

Earlier the virtual session was hosted by Community Vice-Chair S.Shriram and around 100 participants attended the session making it a grand success.

He said ‘IET On Campus is an initiative taken by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Institute. It provides skills and experience to the students to succeed in their careers and supports young engineers and technicians.

During the session, students were also informed about the ‘IET On Campus’ and how can they join the community. What benefits they can get if they join the community.

Shriram said participants were also asked to share their feedback as student chapters of professional societies and a vital part of the college experience.

He said the session draws the path to recruit new members into the growing Student Community of IET On-Campus NIT Srinagar.

“We intend to conduct technical workshops and events on the advancing technologies in the world of digitalization as well as seminars and guest lecturers from eminent speakers across the world,”  Shriram added.

Several questions were raised by the participants and were answered by Vice-Chair S Shriram and Community Chair Syed Aga Hadi Riza.

The technical expert for this event was Community Secretary, Ravi Chandra Kumara who seamlessly streamed the session on Google Meet and simultaneously on other social media platforms.

While a formal vote of thanks was presented by Syed Aga Hadi, Community Chair IET On-Campus, and Campus Recruitment Coordinator, NIT Srinagar. He thanked experts and participants, for making the event a grand success
