Young entrepreneur Hammad Koul has brought the renowned La Pino’z Pizza chain to downtown Srinagar, marking a significant expansion of global food culture into Kashmir.
The new La Pino’z location is set to offer a fresh culinary experience in the Valley, with a menu that ranges from classic Margherita to innovative, bold flavours topped with signature cheeses, vegetables, and meats that have made La Pino’z a nationwide favourite.
Hailing from a business-minded background, Koul saw an opportunity to tap into the growing demand for diverse dining options in Kashmir. “Kashmir has a deep and cherished food heritage, but the younger generation is also looking for global flavours. With La Pino’z, I wanted to bring something fresh and exciting that still respects the local culture,” says Koul.
“Pizza is a universal language in food, and I believe it can appeal to everyone here, young and old.”
The decision to open in downtown Srinagar was strategic, given its accessibility and vibrant community life. “Downtown Srinagar has such a rich history, and it’s a place where both locals and visitors come together,” Koul explains. “We chose this location because we wanted La Pino’z to be at the heart of the community, where people could gather, relax, and enjoy something new.”

Koul aims to create a spot that will not only satisfy the craving for delicious pizza but also become a regular hangout. “We’re creating a place where people can come not just for great food but for a welcoming experience. In addition to enhancing the local dining scene, Koul’s venture will contribute to the economy by creating job opportunities for Kashmir’s youth and offering training in food service and hospitality under La Pino’z high standards. “Empowering young people in our community is something I’m passionate about,” says Koul. “We’re not just opening a restaurant; we’re building skills and confidence in the team here.”
