GOC-in-C, Northern Command inaugurates “Gul-A-Seum”

Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, GOC-in-C, Northern Command inaugurated “Gul-A-Seum” at Gulmarg tourist destination in Baramulla.
The “Gulmarg Army Museum” is an initiative to highlight the rich history and heritage of Kashmir along with the role of the Indian Army towards the security and development of the Valley.
Army Spokesman said that this state-of-the-art facility features an extensive collection of artifacts, documents and interactive displays through which visitors can explore the cultural heritage of Kashmir.
“It is showcasing the region’s unique traditions, art and historical milestones along with the valour, sacrifice and enduring spirit of the Indian Armed Forces towards Nation building. ChinarCorps Commander and other civil dignitaries were present during the event. This initiative will provide a boost to tourism of Gulmarg,” he said.
On the occasion, Col VN Thapar (Retd) said that this museum is more than just a building or tourist attraction. It stands as a monument honoring the individuals who sacrificed their lives in the various wars our country has fought.”
He further remarked that Kashmir has witnessed the wars with Pakistan and China. This museum serves as a testament to the courage of our soldiers and the stories of these battles, Col Thapar said.
The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, documents, and interactive displays that allow visitors to delve into the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
It highlights the region’s unique traditions, art, and significant historical milestones, while also showcasing the Army’s role in nation-building efforts within Jammu and Kashmir.
