This is the first time ever in the history of the state that Kashmiri boys participated and
got selected for a national motorsport event.
Asrar Wani and Mehboob ul Hussain, today qualified for the Ameo Cup championship at
IndiKart race arena in Pune. Competing against 100 plus participants Asrar and Mehboob
emerged amongst top 15 drivers.
“I am thrilled and extremely excited, though I am an ardent off-roader and often participate in
motorsport events but this was my first ever outside Kashmir, on the national level. Looking
forward to do much better and bring good name and accolades for our state.” Said Asrar Wani.
“I love driving cars and this was an opportunity for me to showcase my talent on a national
platform. It was and amazing experience.” Added Mehboob ul Hussain.
To be hosted as part of the MMSC-FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship, the race for the
Ameo cup-2019 will take place on all three circuits in India including MMRT in Chennai, Kari
Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and India's only F1 racetrack, Buddh International Circuit in
Greater Noida.
