Two talented special cricketers of Kashmir Amir Hassan Rather and Wasim Iqbal Khan have been selected for the Physical Disability (PD) World Cricket Series tournament scheduled to be held in England.
The selectors of the All India Cricket Association For The Physically Challenged (AICAPC) announced its team Wadekar Warriors for the World Cricket Series. The team include 16 players and four standnbye. Wasim Iqbal Khan has been selected as right hand opening batsman while as Amir Hassan as left arm pacer.
The team will represent India in the first 2019 Physical Disability World Cricket Series which will be held in England. The tournament, organised by the England and the Wales Cricket Board, will be held at Worcestershire from 3 to 13 August. The Indian side would be sponsored by BCCI.
Both Amir Hassan who hails from Tarzoo area of Sopore and Wasim Iqbal who is from Anantnag were selected after a series of selection. They were first selected in 50 shortlisted players and then in 30 followed by 25. Finally they were able to get selection in final 16.
