District Budgam Pencak Silat Championship inaugurated

The District Budgam Pencak Silat Association, in collaboration with the Pencak Silat Association of J&K, kick-started the highly anticipated two-day championship at the Indoor Sports Stadium in Budgam. The event, sponsored by the J&K Sports Council and organized under the auspices of “My Youth My Pride,” aims to promote and showcase the ancient martial art form of Pencak Silat.

The inaugural ceremony, graced by the presence of Ms. Shah Farheen as the Chief Guest, witnessed the participation of esteemed office bearers from the District Association. The championship, taking place on June 23rd and 24th, 2023, will witness the fierce competition of more than 440 talented players representing various schools and clubs in the district.

The stakes are high as the winners of this district-level competition will earn the coveted opportunity to compete in the upcoming State and National level championships scheduled to take place next month. This event serves as a crucial stepping stone for aspirants vying for recognition and acclaim at higher levels.
