Dir I&C flags-off J&K Carrom team to Maharashtra

Director Industries & Commerce Mahmood Ahmad Shah Sunday flagged off Jammu and Kashmir Carrom team including boys and girls to represent J&K at 49th Senior National Carrom Championship scheduled to be held at Dadar Mumbai, Maharashtra from March 30 to April 03, 2022.
The team were flagged off from TRC, Srinagar, the Championship is to be hosted by Maharashtra Carrom Association and Mumbai District Carrom Association, Organised by All India Carrom Federation.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were  Zeeshan Khan, Assistant Director J&K Tourism, Shafakat Shafi Manager SKISC, Rauf Tramboo Former Member J&K Sports Council, Sameer Ahmed Vice President, Adil Rashid Shah General Secretary, Adfar Jan Joint Secretary, Sheikh Saqib Treasurer besides other members of the association.
While on Flag Off  Shah, Khan and Tramboo interacted with the players and encouraged them for working hard in studies as well as in sports to bring laurels for J&K.  Guests also wished teams good luck for the national championship.
The team will represent J&K in the 49th Senior National Carrom Championship.
Earlier, a selection committee headed by Nusrat Gazala ,Sports Officer (C),JKSC Shafakat Shafi , Manager SKISC,  J&K Carrom Association General Secretary Adil Rashid Shah besides Arif Sultan and Sheikh Saqib  were also part of screening committee.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association selected 12 member team including Furqan Nazir, Hilal Bashir, Waseem Yousuf Shah, Danish Bashir, Waseem Bashir and Mumin Fayaz Khanday in men team while Mehak Nabi, Sabira Feroz, Shazia Noor, Mehak Ashiq, Riddha Maddni and Asra Shafi were selected to represent women team in the said championship.
However, Shakir Shah and  Shabnum Ara will accompany the team as Manager Men and Women teams respectively besides Arif Sultan Secretary of the J&K Carrom Association.
The 15 members team is sponsored by the J&K Carrom Association and the Players themselves.
