DE&CC Anantnag distributes vehicles among beneficiaries under MUMKIN scheme

A total of 13 vehicles were distributed among eligible beneficiaries by District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Anantnag under the ambit of MUMKIN scheme at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal.

MUMKIN, a flagship scheme in the transport sector provides financial assistance to youth to enable them to have a sustainable livelihood through purchase of small commercial vehicles. The scheme is being implemented by Mission Youth in collaboration with District Administration.

Any unemployed youth between the age of 18 to 35 is eligible for benefits under the scheme. Mission youth provides 80000 or 10% of the cost of the vehicle, whichever is lower as subsidy. A similar amount is contributed by the vehicle manufacturer as a discount. The banking partner provides 100% of the cost of the vehicle as a loan.

The event was attended by DDC Chairman MY Gorsi, ADDC Anantnag, AD Employment among others.

The DE&CC also organized an awareness programme at ITI Anantnag regarding various self-employment schemes. Youth from the nook and corner of the district attended the programme.

On the occasion, various Self-employment schemes like Mumkin, Tejaswani, PMEGP were discussed and eligibility, benefits and success stories were shared with the attendees.

Resource persons from the Employment department, DIC and skill development discussed the opportunities for youth in different self-employment schemes.

Tejaswani, a scheme for women entrepreneurs assists them to establish self-employment ventures providing meaningful employment to others in the process.

PMEGP provides continuous and sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans, rural and urban unemployed youth.
