Cricket tourney concludes at KU’s South Campus

The inter-department 6-A- Side Cricket (Men) Championship concluded at Kashmir University’s South Campus, Anantnag, on Monday.

The tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, South Campus and 16 teams participated in it.

The final match was played on Monday between the Department of Mathematics (Ist Semester) and M.Ed (Ist Semester).

The Department of Mathematics won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 73/5 in allotted 10 overs. Danish scored highest 23 runs for the Mathematics department. Arif of M.Ed. claimed 3 wickets for 15  runs. In reply, M.Ed was bundled out on 40/5 in 6 overs. Arif scored 18 runs for M.Ed. Danish and Sajad got 2 wickets each for the Mathematics, which won the match by 32 runs. Danish was adjudged man of the match for contributing 23 runs and for taking 2 wickets

Coordinator, South Campus, Muhammad Iqbal Bhat stressed upon the students to take part in sports activities.
