Capex Budget 2023-24: DC B’la reviews sector wise progress of Works

In order to take first hand appraisal of physical and financial status of the works taken up under Capex Budget 2023-24 in the district, a meeting of all Sectoral/ District Officers was today held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asga at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.

At the outset, the DC was apprised about the current status of different works being executed in the district besides a detailed sketch about the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes were presented before the chair.

During the meeting, Dr Sehrish took sector wise review and progress of works in various sectors including Education, RDD, PDD, Heath, Agriculture, Horticulture and PHE.

The DC also took a detailed review of allotment of works, works started on ground, works completed, tendering and other related issues.

It was given out that a total of 2203 works have been accorded approval under which 1850 works have been tendered wherein 1360 works stands alloted after being tendered and the remaining part is yet to get tendered.

After reviewing the sector-wise progress of the projects, the DC impressed upon all the departments/executing agencies to ensure the timely completion of all developmental works in a time-bound manner, besides exhorted upon them to ensure 100% allotment of tendered works within 07 days keeping in view the limited working season.

Reviewing the issues hampering the pace of progress, the DC asked the concerned to monitor the pace of progress on a regular basis and resolve the issues hampering the progress of several works at an earliest.

Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Assistant Commissioner Development Shabir Ahmad Hakak, Assistant Director Planning Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Superintending Engineer R&B Reyaz Ahmad Parray, Chief Education officer Balbir Singh Raina and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
