Budgam girl wins Bronze medal in ongoing Khelo India Games

A female student from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has bagged a bronze medal in the Kalaripayattu game in Khelo India Youth Games in Haryana.

Dua Mukhtar is one of the Jammu and Kashmir players who bagged the fourth position among the top five players in the Kalariyappayytu match all over India.

Dua is a 12th-grade student at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Beerwah. She is one of the Kalariyappayytu athletes from the Budgam district and is affiliated with the Tajamul Sports Academy Budgam.

“Family support is very important for girls who want to brighten up their careers in sports. I want to thank my parents, coach, and my school teachers for their support during the entire event,” she said.

Dua claimed that said during my sports career I had played two national and four state-level games. Now, this is my third race where I have been ranked fourth among the top five players in the Kalariyappayytu game across India.

Tajamul Ahmad Khan, Dua’s coach, said she was one of the top five players in the Kalariyappayytu game who achieved the fourth position and won a bronze medal in the Khelo India youth sports event.
