Athletes from Ganderbal Shine at 25th National Sqay Championship in Haryana

Ganderbal athletes have brought immense pride to their district with remarkable performances at the 25th National Sqay Championship held in Haryana. By securing medals across various categories, these athletes have showcased the growing potential of Ganderbal in martial arts, earning national recognition.
Kamraan Tariq, Uzaif Ahmad Shah, and Zaid Bin Ashraf were the stars of the event, making their hometown proud with their dedication and skill. Kamraan Tariq clinched a bronze medal.

Speaking about his achievement, Kamraan said, “This bronze medal is the result of years of dedication. I’m proud to bring it home to Ganderbal. This is just the beginning; I’m aiming for gold next time.”
Uzaif Ahmad Shah shone bright with a silver medal, reflecting the immense talent emerging from the region. “Winning silver feels amazing,” Uzaif shared. “I’m thankful to my coaches, especially Saleem Pathan, my family, and friends for their constant support. This victory motivates me to aim even higher in the future.”
The crowning glory of the event came from Zaid Bin Ashraf, who won the prestigious gold medal. His extraordinary performance established him as a champion at the national level. “Winning gold is a dream come true,” Zaid told Kashmir News Observer. “I’ve worked tirelessly for this moment, and I feel proud to represent Ganderbal on such a platform.”

Coach Saleem Pathan, said congratulated the athletes, saying, “On behalf of the Sqay Association Ganderbal, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the players for their dedication and hard work. Your commitment is truly commendable, and I wish you all the best for your future endeavors. Keep striving for excellence.”
