J&K’s Football Talent Takes Centre Stage at Sports Council Trials

The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council on Monday conducted and concluded a series of sporting activities across the Union Territory, including Sub-Junior Football trials, the J&K Thang-Ta Championship and the District Budgam Badminton Championship. 

The divisional-level Sub-Junior Football trials, as per a statement, were concluded at TRC Srinagar and Mini Stadium, Parade, Jammu. A total of 46 girls were selected for the Union Territory-level trials, scheduled to be held in Srinagar from August 26, 2026.

In Budgam, the two-day District Badminton Championship is underway at the Indoor Sports Hall. The championship was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Bashir Ahmad Ganie, Chief Education Officer.

A total of 150 players and 10 officials are participating in the championship, while around 100 spectators witnessed the inaugural proceedingsThe events are part of the J&K Sports Council’s continued efforts to provide competitive platforms to young sportspersons and promote sporting activities across the Union Territory.
