In a major boost to the agricultural sector, nearly 8.68 lakh farmers across Jammu and Kashmir received financial assistance exceeding ₹173.60 crore under the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) between April and July 2026.
The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative has ensured that financial assistance reaches eligible farmers directly into their bank accounts, providing timely support for agricultural activities, reducing dependence on intermediaries, and strengthening rural livelihoods across the Union Territory.
