LG Manoj Sinha Highlights Teachers’ Role in Shaping J&K’s Future

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in shaping the future of society, stating that empowering educators is the key to building confident students and a stronger nation.

Addressing a one-day capacity-building programme jointly organised by the Bharti Airtel Foundation, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT)Jammu & Kashmir, and the School Education Department, the Lieutenant Governor said the initiative reflects a collective commitment to strengthening the education system through teacher empowerment.

LG Sinha said that when teachers are empowered, students gain confidence; when schools are strengthened, society becomes more resilient; and when education moves in the right direction, Jammu and Kashmir and the nation move towards a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future.

Highlighting the transformative power of education, the Lieutenant Governor said the ultimate purpose of learning is not merely academic achievement but meaningful transformation. He stressed that education becomes truly impactful when it connects with students’ real-life experiences and inspires positive generational change.

“The greatest power of education does not lie in examination results but in its ability to change lives. A dedicated teacher shapes destiny,” the Lieutenant Governor said, urging schools and teachers across Jammu and Kashmir to become “laboratories of life-building” where students are equipped with values, skills, and confidence to succeed in life.

LG Sinha also underscored the importance of continuous professional development for educators and called for innovative teaching practices that foster critical thinking, creativity, and holistic development among students.

The capacity-building programme brought together educators, academic experts, and officials from the School Education Department to discuss strategies for enhancing teaching standards and improving learning outcomes across the Union Territory.
