Digital J&K: NIELIT Brings Job Fair for Skilled Aspirants

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, will organise job fairs under the project “Skill Development for Digital J&K and Ladakh” at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) campuses in Srinagar and Jammu.The job fair will be held on March 16 at the NIELIT J&K Srinagar campus and on March 18 at the Convocation Centre in Jammu, to connect trained youth with potential employers and promoting employment opportunities in the region.

The project, sanctioned for a period of three years, seeks to provide skill development training to 9,450 youth across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, including 4,779 candidates from SC/ST categories and 4,671 from the general category, ensuring inclusive participation.

As part of the initiative, state-of-the-art online examination facilities are being established in Srinagar, Leh and Kargil, while existing laboratories in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh and Kargil are being upgraded to meet industry standards and improve the quality of training and assessments.

The job fairs are expected to witness participation from a large number of trained candidates under the Skill Development for Digital J&K programme, including graduates, diploma holders and candidates with technical certifications under the project.
