Asmita Wushu League inaugurated inaugurated at the Universal Education Trust, Bandipora

Asmita Wushu League 2025 was inaugurated today at the Universal Education Trust, Bandipora, in a spirited celebration of women’s empowerment through sports.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora, Shabir Ahmed, noted educationist Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Padma Shri awardee Faisal Ali Dar.

Over 400 girls from across the district are participating in the league under sub-junior, junior, and senior categories, representing schools, clubs, and institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabir Ahmed said wushu instills discipline, resilience and confidence, while also equipping young girls with self-defense skills while Farooq Ahmed Bhat stressed the importance of sports in holistic education and character building.

The event concluded with a strong message of Bandipora’s commitment to nurturing talent and empowering girls through sports.
