J&K Athletes Shine at All India Inter-University Wushu Championship, Clinch Gold Medals

Showcasing remarkable skill and determination, three athletes from Jammu and Kashmir  Kamran Mohammad Shamas, Naveed Farooq Mir, and Ayeera Chisti  bagged gold medals at the prestigious All India Inter-University Wushu Championship held at Chandigarh University.

 
The championship witnessed participation from 151 universities across the country, making the trio’s achievement even more significant.
 
Naveed Farooq Mir secured gold in the 85 kg category after a series of six tough bouts, demonstrating outstanding technique and endurance.Kamran Mohammad Shamas, competing in the 90+ kg category, also emerged victorious after six intense fights. Meanwhile, Ayeera Chisti showcased her strength and skill to clinch gold in the 52 kg category.
 
All three athletes represented Lovely Professional University (LPU), adding yet another feather to the institution’s cap.
 
Their success not only underlines the exceptional sports talent emerging from Jammu and Kashmir but also highlights the importance of national platforms like the Inter-University Championship in nurturing young athletes. (KNS)
