The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K Tourism Panel held its inaugural meeting on April 11 at Hotel Countryside and Resorts, Srinagar. The meeting was chaired by Hussain Khan, panel convener and owner of Hotel Countryside and Resorts.
Key participants included Siddhant Chowdhary, Panel Mentor and Director of Hotel Vivanta Jammu; Abhinandan Mahajan, Panel Co-convener and Director of J&K Cold Estates; Owais Majid, Managing Director of Hotel Namrose Resorts and Spa; Ruman Riyaz Panjra, Managing Director of Hotel Six Seasons; and Ausman Qayoom, Director of Zum Zum Springs Tour and Travels. Faizan Mir, Director of Shadaab Hospitals, attended as a special invitee.
The panel discussed critical issues affecting the hospitality sector, focusing primarily on promoting sustainable tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. Members emphasised the need for a comprehensive tourism policy for the Union Territory to provide clear direction for the tourism and hospitality sector’s future.
The panel also explored the potential for establishing Jammu and Kashmir as a premier wedding destination, highlighting the region’s capacity to attract destination weddings.
The meeting featured productive dialogue and collaboration, setting the foundation for future initiatives to enhance tourism in Jammu and Kashmir
