SSB Sgr concludes Bharat darshan study tour with grand closing ceremony

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Srinagar, Thursday concluded the nine-day Bharat Darshan Study Tour with a closing ceremony at its battalion headquarters in Batmaloo.

The educational tour, which began on 28 January, aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to India’s cultural heritage, scientific progress, and historical landmarks. The event was attended by Imtiaz Ismail Parry, DIG (Special Operations), SSB Srinagar, as the chief guest, along with Dalbir Singh, Second-in-Command, 10 Battalion SSB Srinagar.

During the tour, students had the opportunity to interact with Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka, and visit some of India’s most prestigious institutions, including—ISRO Satellite Centre – showcasing India’s advancements in space technology, HAL Aerospace Museum – highlighting the country’s aerospace achievements, National Military Museum – offering insights into India’s defence history, and Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum – Exploring innovations in science and technology
The itinerary also included a visit to Mysore, where students explored its architectural grandeur, and Delhi, where they had the privilege of meeting Anupama Nilekar Chandra, Additional Director General, SSB, New Delhi.

The group also engaged with the Sports Authority of India, learning about national initiatives to promote sports and fitness. Visits to the National War Memorial, Kartavya Path, and Gandhi Smriti Sangrahalaya offered deeper insights into India’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices made for the nation. Historic sites such as the Red Fort and Jama Masjid further enriched their understanding of India’s past.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Imtiaz Ismail Parry commended the students for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. He highlighted the importance of such educational tours in broadening young minds, fostering unity, and instilling a sense of patriotism.

Dalbir Singh, who oversaw the tour, described it as a transformative experience for the students, providing them with invaluable exposure to different facets of India’s progress and heritage. He also expressed gratitude to media representatives and attendees for their support in making the programme a success. The Bharat Darshan Study Tour is part of SSB’s outreach initiatives, aimed at educating and inspiring youth by showcasing India’s achievements and cultural diversity.
