Over three dozen workers, including both men and women, carrying a nearly 50 ft. long tricolor, marched through the city center, raising patriotic slogans.
The rally began at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), passed through Residency Road, and culminated peacefully at the iconic clock tower in Lal Chowk. “The aim of the Tiranga rally was to send a message that the youth of Kashmir are Indian and will always remain Indian,” said one of the participants.
He added that they are continuing a tradition that began in 2022 in response to the former Chief Minister’s remark that no one would hold the tri-color after the abrogation of Article 370. “These are Kashmiri youth holding the tri-color with pride, and we will continue to do so,” he said.
A female participant echoed the sentiment, saying, “This rally is our way of expressing love for the nation and showcasing our unity.”
The rally ended peacefully, with participants expressing their commitment to continue holding such rallies in the region. “This rally shows the patriotic fervor of the youth in the valley, and we will continue holding such rallies here,” one participant said.
