In 8 months, 74-year-old Handwara man writes holy Quran

In an extraordinary feat of dedication and faith, a 74-year-old man from Mominabad, Handwara has handwritten the Holy Quran in just eight months.
The handwritten Quran comprises 870 pages, reflecting his unwavering commitment and devotion.
Mohammad Maqbool Tantray, a retired supervisor from the Municipal Committee of Handwara, said he dedicated 5 to 8 hours daily to writing the Quran. “I have been eager to write the Holy Quran for a long time. Over the past months, I remained fully committed and made it my goal to complete it,” he said.

Tantry highlighted the importance of not just writing but also regularly reading the Holy Quran. “The Holy Quran is a sacred book, and people should make it a habit to read it consistently,” he added.
“From my childhood, I have been reading the Quran, and I had been waiting for this moment for a very long time. Completing this handwritten copy brings me immense satisfaction,” he stated.
Having retired 14 years ago from his service, he expressed his gratitude and pride in achieving this milestone. “It gives me great honour to say that I have finally completed writing the Holy Quran,” he said.
