Social media sensation from Bandipora gets Bollywood break

Known for recreating scenes from Bollywood hits in his unique style and captivating audiences, a young social media sensation from Bandipora is set for a major career breakthrough.

Faisal Ahmad Sheikh, 20, has been selected by Mumbai-based production house Taha Film International, bringing his dreams closer to reality following a recently held audition.

Faisal, hailing from the Ashtangoo area of the district, expressed his joy and disbelief at the opportunity.

“When I saw my name on the list, I could not believe it-it was a dream come true. I am overjoyed and thankful for this opportunity,” said Faisal, known for his acting performances on platforms like Facebook and YouTube.

Recounting his journey, Faisal shared that it began in 2019 when he started creating videos on YouTube.
Despite initial challenges in gaining traction, his persistence paid off when he transitioned to Facebook.
There, a recreation of a scene from the film ‘Pushpa’ garnered over 33 million views, catapulting him to fame.

“I have worked continuously for more than two years on different social media channels, keeping myself motivated. I believe that if you love something and work hard for it, success will follow,” he said.
The producer of Taha Film International, Suhail Syed, who discovered Faisal during auditions held in Bandipora last November, praised his talent.

“I found him at an audition here in Bandipora and immediately recognized his dedication and hardwork. He truly deserves this chance,” Syed said, adding that Faisal is now part of three upcoming projects in Kashmir.
The production house, known for promoting Kashmiri talent, aims to bring local artists to the international stage.

Faisal’s selection was confirmed in December when the cast list was released, marking a milestone in his budding career.

Sharing what inspired him to pursue acting, Faisal said, “From a very young age, I was fascinated by acting. Watching movies, observing dialogue delivery, and recreating scenes gave me a sense of purpose.”
He credits Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, whom he admires for his versatility, as a major influence on his career. “I have watched almost every movie of his,” Faisal said with admiration.

The film by Taha Film International will be Faisal’s first major break, with shooting set to begin soon.
Faisal lives by the mantra: “Jo bhi shouk rakhta hun, woh dang se karta hun” (Whatever passion I follow, I do it with complete dedication), which he believes holds the key to success.
